Book Review: Schizo

Title: Schizo
Author: Nic Sheff
Teen Reviewer: Elisha Cutter
Rating: 4/5 stars

Schizo is about a boy named Myles who was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Myles realized he had schizophrenia when his brother died. Myles believes his brother was kidnapped. Myles goes on an extensive search for his brother not knowing the actual cause of his brothers disappearance may not be as he believes. Myles believes the only witness is a girl who eventually shows up at school. This is a story of  Myles journey to understand what is truly real and what may only be in his head.

I enjoyed reading this book because it is extremely different than most books coming out. Not only did I enjoy this story I gained additional understanding about the overall symptoms and disease that is schizophrenia. I would definitely recommend this book to other people and to keep an open mind while reading this.

Book Review: Guardian

Title: Guardian
Author: Alex London
Teen Reviewer: Elisha Cutter
Rating: 4/5 Stars

Guardian is the followup story to Proxy. Guardian is about how since Knox destroyed all electronics there is a new world. Sydney becomes the face of the new world. Most citizens are happy with this change and others are not. Due to threats, Sydney needs the assistance of a bodyguard named Liam. Disease begins to plague the world due to lack of electronics and medical care. Sydney believes he can find the cure and rescue his city, but no cure can be found.

I enjoyed reading Guardian much more than Proxy. Guardian held my attention longer and the overall excitement of the book kept me wanting to read more. I definitely can't wait for the third book to come out. I can only imagine the twists and turns the story may take.

Book Review: Proxy

Title: Proxy
Author: Alex London
Teen Reviewer: Elisha Cutter
Rating: 3/5 Stars

Proxy is about a rich kid named Knox who gets in tons of trouble, but Knox never gets his own punishment. Sydney is Knox's proxy who gets the consequences of Knox's actions. Knox is charged with murder and the consequence is death. Sydney decides to find Knox and kidnap him in attempt to avoid the charges. Sydney is aware of the tracker that is placed under his skin that allows them to be traced. The boys are not allowed to be in one place for any length of time. Knox's journey leads him to destroy the electronic sensor which eventually leads to his death.

In total, I would give this book an overall good rating. At times, the book would drag and at others it would immediately grab your attention, so I couldn't stop reading.
